Michael Sorentino

Photography, marketing, social media, and a lot more in the form of blogging and photo galleries. Personal website of Michael Sorentino.

I can sum myself up in a few short phrases: Christ Follower, Former Sneaker Connoisseur, (wannabe) Executive Chef and Pitmaster of the Sorentino Household, Aspiring Mixologist, Dog Dad (and Dog Foster).

I worked in the sneaker industry for nearly 10 years and loved almost every minute of it. But beyond that, I love marketing. Offering a product/service that you know can make someone’s day/week/month/year/life better when they use it can be an incredible experience, and the customer’s experience should go far beyond the product itself. How they interact with employees in a store, on a website, on social media, on the phone, via chat... it all plays a major role in the customer experience that while people may not NEED, will set a brand apart from its competition.

I have a passion for storytelling and love to use all sorts of mediums to share them. Whether it’s podcasts, videos, images, or something else, impacting people with stories is something I always strive to do. Everyone loves a good story. I help brands write and share theirs.

A new passion I have found is in the health and wellness space. As I turned 30, I realized how unhappy I was with both my physical and mental health, and started a journey to remedy that. Many of the brands I touch today with Exemplar Design are in that field (Kore Nutrition, AI Wellness, VitaHustle, TRX, and more), and I'm incredibly proud of the impact that these brands have had on people's lives.

Professionally, I LOVE marketing. I can’t watch a commercial without breaking down the marketing elements, effectiveness, goals, execution, design, script... I know it drives my wife nuts because she sometimes just thinks a commercial is humorous, but when I ask her a minute later who it was for and she can’t recall, I get to explain that while it accomplished one goal, laughter, it failed miserably at the main goal of any advertising: remembering the brand.

This website is my attempt to do just that: be memorable. The irony is that I am called to “holiness,” which means to be set apart, to be different, or in other words, to be memorable. Whether it’s a blog post, some sneakers, puppies, or a beautiful scenic landscape, I want to offer something that brightens your day or helps you learn something new. Enjoy.
